The jeepney was about to move again when you suddenly told the driver to wait so that you could get down. You didn't see the face of the said driver, but you were sure that he was annoyed by what you just did, judging from the tone of his voice as he blurted out an expletive. The embarrassment from the whole thing was only fleeting, however, as you were soon caught up in the pursuit of the man with the small backpack.
You thought you were going to lose him by the time you got off the jeepney, but thankfully, you got a glimpse of him as he turned a corner. As you walked faster to catch up, part of you asked yourself why you decided to do this. Then again, you knew there was no real answer, just an impulse. But the thing was, you didn't quite see yourself as someone rash until now.
Perhaps you just wanted to try something different while you were still young. Maybe something interesting would still happen in your life before you were devoured by the adult world.
Soon, the man went inside an abandoned building, and you followed suit. However, even though you thought you were close enough behind him to still see where he went, there was no trace of him by the time you entered the structure.
"Where could he be?" you asked yourself in a mumble.
