Mysteries Around Del Mundo Tower

04 - Exploration and a Backpack

You've already done something less than normally rational to get to this point. Perhaps putting in more effort will reward you somehow. But then, what were you going to do when you did meet the man? What were you even going to say?

There was no time for that. You figured that you might as well start searching now and think about what you're going to do later. Or rather, you could just do one sweep of the place and then get back on your journey towards Del Mundo Tower.

Yes, that would be a more sensible wording of what you intend to do.

And so you took a good look at all the nooks and crannies in the building you could reach. There didn't seem to be any way to go up the remains of what used to be the upper floors of this structure, so you stuck with the first floor.

While you were searching for the man, you noticed that the place wasn't as dirty as you thought it would be. Yes, there was graffiti in some spots, and there were tufts of grass growing in the cracks in the concrete, but you didn't smell any stink from garbage, sewage, feces, or urine. In fact, you didn't even see any hint of it in the whole time you were here.

"Was this place... kept somehow?" you asked yourself as you considered the possibility that the man may have made this urban ruin his home.

In your wondering and wandering, you soon came across a small backpack, and it seemed to be similar to that of the man you had been following. The object lay limp on the ground, as you have expected it to, seeing as it didn't have much in it.

But where was the man?

You looked around for any signs of him nearby, but there were none.

In light of this, do you...

... take the backpack and look for the man?

... leave the backpack alone and get back to what you were doing before?
