You felt an unnaturally strong urge to grab the backpack and continue looking for the man who may have lost it, but your common sense had finally caught up with you. What was the point in going after the man? Did you really want to risk your first job like that?
There may have still been some time for you to go to the Del Mundo Tower, you thought, but you also doubted it. Still, you quickly ran back to where you got off earlier, and you took the first jeepney you could. After that, you couldn't do anything aside from anxiously wait to get to your destination.
It was grueling to you, as there were more people this time, and this driver just wanted to get as many passengers in as possible, waiting at stops longer than you could comfortably bear. You could almost see yourself writing your own will and testament as you saw the time move closer to your work start, even though realistically, you could still apply for another job if you failed this time. Or maybe you could be forgiven...
As soon as you caught a glimpse of the building's front, you knocked on the ceiling and told the driver to stop. Your voice was unexpectedly loud, and it startled everyone, including yourself. But you soon shook it off as you left, almost leaping out of the vehicle in the process.
You started with a run, but then slowed down as you noticed a large crowd of people gathered near the entrance. However, you decided to pick up the pace again as you thought, "No, I can't be late! Not for the first day!"
In the middle of pushing through, you noticed that the others were looking at a certain direction. Part of you wanted to pause a moment to see what it was, but part of you really just wanted to get in the building as soon as possible.
What do you do? Do you...
... push on?
... take a little peek?
